Project
Word spread quickly among local True Value owners after the first upgrade to energy efficient lighting was preformed in Neosho. Since that time, Pearl Brother’s True Value in Joplin and Journagan True Value in Aurora joined OES’s list of satisfied customers by saving money on their utility bills and utilizing Empire’s rebate program for energy conservation measures.
Each store was thoroughly analyzed, and the upgrades were designed to maximize energy savings while providing light levels and distribution encouraged by the True Value network. Sensor suitability was investigated and several sensors were incorporated where they were found to be economically sound.
Customers, managers and employees have all commented on how much brighter the whiter lights make the store and products look, and with Ozark Energy Services providing warranty service on the systems, they will be looking that way for a long time.
Collectively, the projects will abate over 95 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. This is the equivalent of planting 26 acres of forest or taking 16 cars off the road!
After over $33,000 in rebates through The Empire District Electric Company, the three stores are enjoying average simple paybacks of just over three years! – Based on today’s energy prices!
